Located in the community of Yirrkala in northern Australia, The Mulka Project is a multifaceted production company that acts as a living library for the Yolηu people of north-east Arnhem Land, preserving old tape recordings, photographs and films of the past while recording present memories for the future generations. For Yolηu people, the word mulka means to hold with unspoiled hands, or a public but sacred ceremony.
