Owen Haggerty, of Johnstone in Renfrews-hire, will be released from prison after he was banged up for trying to stop a street brawl last month.
The 22-year-old was just a day away from finishing his deploymentin the region.
Earlier this week, we told how his determined mum Kirsty Reynolds penned an emotional letter to the King begging for the pardon after Owen was sentenced to three months in prison, following a 10-second hearing.

Speaking upon hearing of his release, Kirsty said: "I can't stop shaking. This is unbelievable news.
"We have now overcome such a massive hurdle in our fight to bring Owen home."
Kirsty said she was on a crisis call with local MP Johanna Baxter over the case yesterday morning when an embassy number phoned her.
She said: "Johanna has been a great help and she was saying she was going to get Owen's case raised in the House of Commons.
"I was on that call and I just saw the embassy number pop up. It came through three times.
"I told Johanna I had to go and immediately opened my laptop to see a notification for an 'urgent call for Owen Haggerty'. Then our case worker joined the call and said she had great news.
"I just burst out crying. I was in disbelief."
Kirsty worried the royal pardon she had pleaded for would be delayed with Islamic Eid al-Fitr celebrations set to take place this week.
