Tory peer Lord Wolfson claimed "anything that increases cost" is ultimately going to reduce employment opportunities. His comments follow the Government's drive to get more disabled people back into work.
Wolfson rejected the idea of financial boosts to increase the number of disabled workers, explaining: "It often doesn't work and then you are employing people for the wrong reasons. And that's not good for them or the business."
