Robert “Birdman” O'Hara, 47, paid for his partner and daughter to live in a £650,000 flat in Glasgow's upmarket Park Circus while he served time in prison.
He brazenly tried to buy a £225,000 Lamborghini while police seized more than £300,000 of high-value watches, jewellery, designer clothes and trainers when they raided properties linked to his crime gang.
O'Hara pled guilty at the High Court in Glasgow earlier this month to directing others to become involved in organised crime between September 2018 and May 2021.
It has now emerged he claimed £10,391 to fund his defence team led by Donald Findlay KC.
The figure could increase as solicitors have four months following conclusion of proceedings to claim payments from the Scottish Legal Aid Board (SLAB).
A raid in 2021 saw officers remove a £135,000 Audi R8, a Range Rover SVR worth £110,000 and an Audi A3 from a property linked to O'Hara.
