Erin Moore hit on the idea as she juggled the demands of work with being a single parent. She teamed up with farmer Scott Laidlaw to launch Campfire takeaway in Biggar, Lanarkshire.
Erin feared the business might close after being told planning permission for such ventures is usually vetoed in residential areas.
But customers bombarded the council and Campfire was given the go-ahead.
Pizzas are cooked in a converted horse trailer and Erin has decking and seating.
She opened in February last year. South Lanarkshire Council said: "Proposals for hot food shops will not generally be supported in residential areas and are more appropriate in retail/ commercial areas.
