A 70-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash on Wednesday at about 12.20pm involving his motorbike, a car and a lorry on the A68 at Earlston in the Borders.
Police have appealed for witnesses.
A 61-year-old died in the second crash, in Dumfriesshire, on the B7076 near the junction to Newton Wamphray.
The collision, at about 4.25pm, involved a white Volvo lorry and the victim's silver Honda VFR motorbike.
News of the deaths came as police yesterday launched a campaign urging drivers to play their part in reducing motorcyclist deaths, after a report showed there were 269 such fatalities over nine years.
