A TEEN has been arrested and charged after a mosque was pelted with stones and paint.
Thugs hit the building with white paint and threw a stone through the window at Aberdeen's AMIC Spital Mosque.
The building was targeted on Saturday as terrified worshippers gathered inside. Following the attacks, nearby residents rallied to show their support by helping to clean up the damage.
In a joint statement, Aberdeen Mosques said: "There were two incidents of vandalism last night at AMIC Spital at.
Mosque where paint was thrown at the door and pavement area and a few hours later a rock thrown through a window of the mosque, while worshippers were inside.
"The wilful and despicable criminal acts have been reported to the police and they are investigating the source of the attacks. We are very gratefuto our neighbours and well-wishers in these difficult times."
