The ex-Labour MP for Runcorn and Helsby got 10 weeks’ jail, reduced to a suspended sentence on appeal, leaving him at risk of being ousted from Parliament via a recall process.
Amesbury, 55, admitted assaulting constituent Paul Fellows, 45, after a street row in Frodsham, Cheshire, last October 26.
