The landscape is a world away from the Englishman's loan at Sacramento Republic in California last year.
But Phillips is loving his fresh start. And despite going down to Hearts he insists nobody is writing off a top-six finish with three games to go before the split.
He said: "You never know. We worked really hard last week and it's international break now, so a few of the lads will be off and a few of us will get a little bit of a rest.
"Then we'll build up to Dundee United and see what we can get there.
"I won't be going back home during the break. For the moment, we're staying up here and we'll explore around.
"I'm looking forward to seeing a bit of the Highlands. I haven't had a chance yet because it's been so hectic.
