But Scott insists it will be one game at a time as Hibs bid to hold off Rangers, City as well as Celtic in the title run-in.
The gaffer said: “It is a massive three points. We rode our luck a little but I don't know that City had a lot of brilliant opportunities.
“It was scrappy and maybe not the best quality but at this stage of the season winning games is massive.
“Glasgow City are a top opponent and they will be in it until the death.
“I said to the players before the game that win, lose or draw we would still be in the mix. And that is where it is for us — it is game by game.
“The players deserve huge credit. The glamour job is putting the ball in the net but the hard work is to keep it out. We minimised a quality opponent to shots from distance and we defended well when we had to.”
