Dark side of football giants' bitter rivalry

The often toxic rivalry between Celtic and Rangers fans led to the current alcohol ban in stadiums 45 years ago.
The then Scottish secretary, George Younger, took the step following the infamous 1980 Scottish Cup final riot.
That day, fans of the Glasgow giants unleashed some of the most shameful scenes Scottish football has ever witnessed.
People around the world watched supporters battling on the Hampden pitch after the final whistle had blown.
Missiles were thrown and police horses were used to restore order.

At the time, football commentator Archie Macpherson said: "This is like a scene now out of Apocalypse Now.
"We've got the equivalent of Passchendaele and that says nothing for Scottish football.
"At the end of the day, let's not kid ourselves. These supporters hate each other."
By the time the dust had settled, 100 people were seriously injured and 210 were arrested.
