IT'S Gold Cup day! The pinnacle of National Hunt racing but before I talk about the King, Galopin Des Champs, a word on the Queen of Cheltenham, Rachael Blackmore, who stole the show yesterday.
She's had a tough time with injuries but she proved her talents on the big stage once again.
Her ride on Air Of Entitlement in the first was power packed whereas her ride on Bob Olinger in the Stayers' Hurdle was full of finesse and guile. Rachael won't have taken much notice of some of the nonsense on social media saying she wasn't riding at her best.
She answered her critics in the best possible way by letting her talents and skills in the saddle do the talking.
The jockey has just released a children's book, and continues to inspire the next generation of racing fans.

WILLIE MULLINS' GALOPIN DES CHAMPS (4.00) can join some of the greats of the sport today in winning a third Gold Cup. I can't see any reason why he won't. His form is the best in the race by a mile, he's in as good a condition as he's ever been and Cheltenham is his manor. Today is his coronation.
