Dougie Smith has been given a No10 pass and a desk in the Prime Minister’s most senior political office, according to internal Downing Street documents.
Mr Smith was co-host of Fever Parties, a company staging orgies for the wealthy.
Labour MP Stephen Doughty said: “This revelation raises yet more questions about the hiring and vetting process at the heart of government.
“We now need urgent answers about the hiring of Dougie Smith, the vetting he was subjected to and how he was appointed to the role.” It is understood Mr Smith reports to the PM’s top aides Dominic Cummings and Sir Eddie Lister and was involved in reorganising cabinet special advisers which led to high-ranking aides being sacked.
But he does not appear on the published list of Mr Johnson’s special advisers.
Mr Smith, who is married to the PM’s director of policy Munira Mirza, hosted the orgies and swingers’ parties for at least five years.
Up to 50 couples would mingle over drinks at houses in Mayfair, Central London, before drifting into adjoining rooms with enormous beds. To attend a party, couples would have to submit photos and pay £50 to cover costs. It was revealed in 2003 that he was running the raunchy events.
At the same time he was co-ordinator of Conservatives for Change – a thinktank whose board members included Theresa May.
