PC Norman, who was based in Oxford and worked in the intelligence unit, was barred from serving with Thames Valley Police.
It was said he was in a relationship with a woman referred to as “Mrs X”, who was the wife of a man named only as Richard.
Between 2021 and 2022, Norman accessed police records on an internal system called Niche a total of 14 times for non-policing purposes.
He repeatedly accessed the files of Richard and his now ex-wife, with whom Norman is still in a relationship.
In one instance he used the police records to find out the home address of Mrs X, which was ruled a “serious breach” of confidential data.
Norman also “pro-actively shared” information from the Niche system with Mrs X relating to a road traffic collision she was involved in.
He accessed a police report Richard made against his then wife and sought to influence Mrs X to make a counter-allegation against her husband, it was said.
