Resale apps such as Vinted, Depop, and Shpock have made it easier than ever to declutter and generate some pocket money. Sellers flog unwanted clobber, buyers revamp their ward- robes on the cheap, both get to feel smug about sustainability etc. Everyone's a winner, baby.
Buying secondhand isn't a new phenomenon, of course; it's just that technology has made it cool, and a growing awareness of fashion pollution has made it worthy.
But for secondhand stalwarts like me it's just a way of life. I'm basically part Womble. I like the thrill of the hunt at an old-fashioned car boot sale. A good rummage in a pile of junk is much more fun than mindlessly scrolling on your smartphone.
