A poll of Gen Z Britons, aged between 18 and 30, found they are also turning their backs on iced buns (30%) and custard slices (27%) while even the great British treat of a scone with cream and jam earned a thumbs-down from 23% of the 2,000 asked.
One in four also claim they never drink tea with milk and sugar, said survey organisers British Lion Eggs - a food safety scheme.
Instead almost half (45%) of youngsters insist on protein as a snack with hard-boiled eggs (32%), protein shakes (21%) and slices of chicken or ham (12%) among the top 10 - Greek yoghurt was the favourite, at 35%.
Other liked foods are nuts (19%), carrots with hummus (16%) and salmon (24%).
