The findings come from research which focused on 1,000 full-time employees in typically high-paying, high-intensity environments across the finance, legal and technology sectors.
The study from corporate wellbeing provider Walking on Earth says that stress is not just a concern for wellbeing but a business risk due to lost working days, rising costs as well as compliance failures.
WONE’s data revealed that employees who are highly stressed are eight times more likely to take sick days than those who reported low stress. And highly stressed staff are nearly four times more likely to resign.
The report noted that 12% of the entire professional services workforce is at risk of compliance violations and operational failures due to severe stress.
