The newer block is part of the £2billion Bankside Yards development, in Central London’s South Bank, and was completed in 2021. The site is eventually set to consist of eight towers, including “mega-structures” 50 storeys high.
But Arbor could face “demolition” after the Powells and their seventh-floor neighbour Kevin Cooper sued, seeking an injunction to protect their right of light.
The couple and their neighbour are alternatively seeking damages which could be worth “millions” if their injunction is not granted. Ludgate House Ltd, co-developer of the site, is fighting the claims, insisting that the tower doesn’t block enough light.
They also accused them of trying to hold them to “ransom” and protest that demolishing Arbor Tower would be “a gross waste of money and resources”.

Additionally, they suggested the couple — who complained it was now hard for them to read in bed — could use “electric light”. London's High Court heard the Powells have lived in their flat for more than 20 years.
