She was speaking in the case of antiques dealer John Wellington, 40, who was sued by sales assistant Audrey Pereira.
He hired her to work at his shop in Windsor, Berks, and a month later quizzed her about her life. Judge Annand said the questions were "inherently sexist" and made her feel she had to "justify" why she wanted to work.
