HALO’S ‘MOST AGGRESSIVE’ tyre is built around a 60tpi tubeless carcass and has a harder area in the centre for speed and durability, with softer rubber on the shoulders. Five closely-spaced, offset lines of small arrow-shaped tread blocks line the centre, with angled linking ridges to shift water and muck. More arrow blocks precede two rows of larger, diamond-shaped blocks, which wrap around the shoulder. The 700 x 38mm GXC weighs 410g. Nice and light The lightweight and floppy Halos slipped onto a rim fairly easily and seated fairly quickly with a track pump. Despite seating more than once, one GXC has stubbornly refused to run straight. It doesn’t affect performance though [the same tyres were fine on the Ribble on p74].
