June’s 209-mile (336km) Chase the Sun event from Belfast in Northern Ireland to Enniscrone south of the border opened our eyes to the joys of cycling across the Irish Sea. The Sperrin Mountains offered the day’s meatiest climbs and widest lofty vistas, Lower Lough Erme the lakeland scenery, but it was the opening section towards Glenarm Castle on the east coast that lingers strongest in our memory.
