£1,479 After three years in development, are these Hunt’s best wheels to date? Hunt’s original 48 Limitless wheelset had, as you might expect, 48mm-deep rims. After three years of R&D, these new SUB50s replace the 48s and feature a new hookless rim profile that’s 49.5mm deep. Internal rim width has increased to 23mm (from 22.5mm), which Hunt claims is aerooptimised for 28 and 30mm-wide road tyres, but will work well with widths up to 58mm. The SUB50s also boast specific front and rear profiles, with the front rim measuring 34.2mm externally and the rear slimmer at 30mm. Hunt states the SUB50s are more efficient than the Grand Tour stage-winning 48s, due to reducing aero drag.
