Let’s address the elephant in the room, shall we? Among the tsunamic wave of online reactions that surged in the wake of the launch of the Chronomaster Sport, the ones that rode the crest of smug criticism were those that flippantly compared Zenith’s new watches to another iconic chronograph. We won’t get into details of (the totally legit and also fascinating) shared historic links between the said timepieces. But with many drawing superficial comparisons – ‘Look! It’s also a three-counter chronograph! Also in stainless steel! And with a ceramic bezel too!’ – it is safe to say that armchair watch critics really delight in displays of righteous horological chest-thumping.
