OMEGA CALIBRE 321

Introduced in 1946, the original Calibre 321 was the first-ever chronograph movement used in Omega’s Speedmaster from 1957, and subsequently, the Speedmaster ST 105.003, the first watch that was certified fit for use by NASA. Omega, which stopped the production of the original Calibre 321 in 1968, revived its production in 2019. The project took two years for Omega to reconstruct the new Calibre 321 as accurately as possible to the original, using the original blueprint, as well as digital scanning technology on a vintage Speedmaster worn by the last astronaut to walk on the moon. Though upgraded with Sedna Gold-plated bridges and 55-hour power reserve (from 44 hours), the second-gen hand-wound chronograph movement features the exact architecture and similar specs including 18,000 vph frequency, and monobloc column-wheel and lateral clutch…
