Founded in 1956 by Gaston Ries and his nephew René Bannwart, Corum was established with a view to break with previously held notions of watch design. From the offset, the duo reimagined centuries-old horology tradition by playing with unconventional shapes. Some of these aesthetically creative forms of expression are now widely considered to be among the vanguards of the industry. One of the most iconic Corum models is arguably the Admiral.
