I’m high enough to avoid a goring by Satan’s horns but they give an indication of how this climb will be. The whole wing lurches up and right, one wingtip squashed in so several ribs touch. I lean away, bank hard and hold on. Six tight turns later and I’m topping out at the blue base. I’m on the edge of the world. Behind me are the emerald cane fields marked out in squares across the floodplain and the rougher pastures dotted with trees.
