Six friends spend two weeks trekking and flying in Upper Mustang, one of the remotest regions in Nepal.

We were on a two-week flying trip to Nepal in October 2014 when the idea of a flying and trekking trip to the remote Upper Mustang Valley took hold. We were in Pokhara and Rajesh Bomjan of the local Sunrise Flying School showed us a DVD of his hike-and-fly trip into this remote region close to the border with Tibet. The pictures of the landscape seared themselves into our memories becoming impossible to forget. Eight months later we were back in Kathmandu airport. In between our two visits, on 25 April 2015, the city had been struck by a devastating earthquake.
