Establishing Your HF Presence

I have written many articles on getting on HF. High Frequency (HF) is the ITU (International Tele-communication Union) designation for the range of radio frequency waves from 3 to 30 MHz (80 to 10 meters), but for the purposes of this article, I will include all frequencies from 1.8 to 54 MHz. I am guessing many of you, like me, were attracted to amateur radio with the goal of “talking around the world.” To accomplish worldwide direct radio-to-radio communication, we use HF, which supports worldwide propagation. If you are not already on HF, there are a wide variety of resources to assist you.
