In my ongoing search for award programs across the globe, I came upon a program from a familiar source: The Straight Key Century Club (SKCC), which is not that old of a club and has over 26,500 members as of press time. So, what is the SKCC and what is its purpose, you may ask. The SKCC is the most active group of mechanical-key Morse code operators in the world. It’s very easy to become a member since it is free and you must make contacts with manual telegraph keys which can be straight, bug, or sideswiper “Cootie”-style (no keyboards or electronic keyers).
