The Future of Amateur Radio Awards 2022

This year at the Dayton Hamvention,® I took the time to talk about awards in the hobby with many at the Dayton DX Dinner and within several hospitality suites around the area with results I fully expected. The hobby appears to be in a peak of operating FT8 and not as much Morse code and voice. Nothing is wrong with FT8 and a good portion of the amateurs I spoke with did not know there are awards for FT8, so that was at least a sign of hope on those awards. The results on the four days I was there indicated to me that awards are not a priority to them or the ones that are country-specific have not been in effect for many years. Can this be fixed? It…
