Inutile d’enfermer Ettore Sottsass dans sa période Memphis. Pour le designer, le champ est toujours libre. Après, avant, pendant, il fut toujours prêt à chahuter les règles du goût ambiant – voire du bon goût – à déborder les conventions avec une impertinence stylistique identifiable entre toutes. La maison Artcurial présente une vente monographique des créations de celui qui fut une source d’inspiration pour des générations de designers. Explorant toutes les époques et tous les médiums, une quarantaine de lots esquissent un portrait inédit du designer disparu en 2007. Après le succès de Charlotte for ever, vente dédiée à Charlotte Perriand en 2017, Artcurial offre à notre curiosité des œuvres de Sottsass des années 1950, intimes et émouvantes qui introduisent sa longue carrière.
