NOUVEAU MONDE Le chai dessiné par Jean Nouvel, en 2008, pour Château La Coste. Cet ouvrage architectural unique, composé de deux édifices en aluminium, accueille les récoltes, la vinification, l’élevage des vins et l’embouteillage. Lorsqu’il achète le Château Thuerry, en 1998, au cœur du parc naturel régional du Verdon, Jean-Louis Croquet se retrouve «comme Noé dans ses vignes!» Restait à offrir une arche à ses vins. Trois ans plus tard, un signal blanc attirait le regard dans le vignoble: un parallélépipède en béton de 70 mètres de long, enfoui sur trois faces sous plus de 6000 tonnes de terre. Le pionnier fit des émules, qui dotèrent leur exploitation d’un chai d’architecte. Le premier, en 2008, quand l’Irlandais Patrick McKillen dévoile l’ouvrage que Jean Nouvel a imaginé comme la pièce maîtresse…
