PRÉSIDENT DU JURY DU CONCOURS DESIGN PARADE, IL LE COMPOSE EN CHOISISSANT CHAQUE MEMBRE, DANS LA VOLONTÉ D’APPORTER UNE VISION EXTRA-EUROPÉENNE ET UNE MULTIPLICATION DE POINTS DE VUE AUTOUR DE LA QUESTION: QU’EST-CE QUE LE DESIGN AUJOURD’HUI?

LIVRER UN MESSAGE «Mon travail n’est pas très loin d’une forme d’activisme. Je montre que l’on peut faire du design dans d’autres lieux que les industries traditionnelles» Fabien Cappello investiguait déjà, étudiant, sur l’économie, le social qu’il y a derrière la qualité d’un objet. En 2011, il enquêtait sur les ateliers artisanaux dans la banlieue de Lisbonne et leur production. Son travail est acquis par le British Council. Au Mexique, il collabore avec des ateliers urbains, crée à partir de l’étain ce qu’il nomme «des objets de résistance». «Ils représentent un nouvel ordest, de valeurs. L’idée du super local, des objets qui ont un sens dans un contexte précis, conçus à partir de matériaux ou de techniques peu considérés, mais qui constituent des solutions pertinentes.» Rendez-vous au Festival Design Parade.…
