ÉCLAIRER LE REGARD Piet Moget, peintre d'origine hollandaise, prend à la fin des années 1940 la direction de la Méditerranée avec sa femme, l'artiste Mary Schallenberg, et s'installe à Port-La-Nouvelle. Son père spirituel, le peintre Geer Van Velde, l'incite à aider les jeunes artistes en les collectionnant. «Mon père avait un regard perçant.» Layla Moget, sa fille, ouvre avec lui en 1991 le Lieu d'art contemporain (L.A.C.) afin de partager les œuvres acquises au fil des décennies, montrant la vivacité des mouvements artistiques: l'art minimaliste avec Fred Sandback, le conceptuel avec Sol LeWitt, la photoréalité avec Richard McLean, l'hyperréalisme avec Ralph Goings, le pop art avec Edward Ruscha, le courant De Stijl avec Piet Mondrian, la figuration libre avec Erró, Support/Surface avec Viallat… L.A.C.
