EMMA COLOMBEAU A AUJOURD’HUI 25 ANS ET REPREND LES RÊNES DE LA MANADE, TOUJOURS AUX CÔTÉS DE SON GRAND-PÈRE FRANCIS, 85 ANS. S’INSCRIRE DANS SES PAS ET DANS CEUX DE SON ONCLE, DÉCÉDÉ EN 2004 BLESSÉ PAR UN TAUREAU, RELÈVE D’UN DÉFI PERSONNEL DE CONTINUER À INSCRIRE LE NOM FAMILIAL DANS L’ÉLEVAGE DE TAUREAUX DE COMBAT. ELLE LE MÈNE AVEC UNE VOLONTÉ DE FER, UNE ATTENTION EXTRÊME ET UNE FASCINATION SANS BORNE, POUR SES ANIMAUX MYTHIQUES ET PRÉHISTORIQUES.

L’ESPRIT DE COMBAT Emma Colombeau forge son esprit, sa personnalité au contact de ses taureaux de combat. Son grand-père ne cesse de rappeler que ce sont des bêtes nobles et braves. «Ils ont l’instinct de la charge.» Emma Colombeau apprend depuis son enfance à les côtoyer. Elle les sait «aussi puissants que fragiles». Ils peuvent se battre entre eux, se casser une corne, se blesser dans les pâturages. «Ils ont l’esprit de combat, même les veaux de quelques jours.» Élevage très extensif, toujours dehors, ils font l’objet de toutes les attentions. «J’ai précédé les écologistes dans la pratique», souligne Francis.
