UZÈS HISTOIRE NATURELLE Née à La Réunion, Sophie Lavaux garde de son enfance le souvenir ébloui de longues marches le long de chemins vierges, « à la rencontre de gens qui n'avaient jamais vu la mer ». Les décors de Madagascar, Maurice et Mayotte ont nourri aussi son travail de céramiste, qui porte la conscience d'une splendeur en sursis, d'une nature aussi fragile que consolatrice. Nénuphars, coraux, coquillages, spores ou alvéoles… ses grandes sculptures de grès ou de porcelaine, brutes et délicates à la fois, montent la garde à la frontière des règnes minéral, végétal et animal.
