ANDROID Use Google Podcasts’ new features In Issue 532’s Best New Apps, we recommended Google Podcasts, which lets you subscribe to and download podcast episodes to listen to offline. The app recently added two useful new features. You can now modify playback speed, and cut out long silences. When you first open the app (www.snipca.com/28535), you’ll see a list of categories (Comedy, Arts, ‘News & Politics’, ‘Sports & Recreation’, etc). Swipe across a category to see the podcasts within it, then select the ones you want. Alternatively, you can search for podcasts by tapping the search icon at the top left, then typing a keyword. Tap the correct suggestion, then tap the +Subscribe button to do that. From now on, when you open the app, you’ll see any podcasts you’ve subscribed to as tiles…
