Can Virgin insist on repairs? Q In May I bought a new Nokia 3 phone from Virgin, but it was faulty. I asked Virgin for a refund within 30 days of purchase, but it said it would only repair the phone, saying I was outside its 14-day cooling-off period. This repair hasn’t worked, and Virgin says it’s allowed to try another. Is this true? Andy Pearce A No it’s not. We’ve told Virgin it must let Andy choose a full refund or a new phone, plus pay compensation for the airtime he’s paying for but can’t use.
