Happy memories of BBC Micro
Thanks for including the news story about the BBC Micro software archive (www.snipca.com/28290) in Issue 532 (page 7). I had no idea that such an archive existed. My family and I had many hours of fun with the BBC Micro in the 1980s. It was an excellent introduction to computing and physics for my children. In particular, I remember the program that let you emulate a hot-air balloon where you had to calculate how far you could get given a certain wind speed/direction, and the amount of gas on board. The 747 Flight Simulator (pictured) also gave us hours of fun and frustration! I still have the the BBC Micro (in its original box and hopefully still working), along with a 5.25in disc drive and disc-based programs, numerous cassette-based programs,…
