TV’s New Sure Cure The eight-episode limited series The Shrink Next Door is just what the doctor ordered. The dramedy was inspired by the true story of the codependent relationship that developed when patient Martin “Marty” Markowitz (Will Ferrell) fell under the spell of his manipulative psychiatrist Isaac “Ike” Herschkopf (Paul Rudd). “It’s a friendship and a patient-and-doctor relationship that just got out of control,” Paul explains.
