To wrap up our Ford Focus ST170 project coverage we carry out a few suspension upgrades before taking it to Mallory Park for a final shakedown.

PART 4: MUCH IMPROVED The ST170 was always intended to be a more practical alternative to the halo-model RS, much like the XR3i was to the Escort RS Turbo, and we can draw some interesting comparisons between the two. Just like the ST170, the XR3i was produced in far greater numbers than its RS counterpart. And just like the ST170, you'd spot XR3is everywhere, from shopping centre car parks to show-and-shine paddocks. But when was the last time you saw an XR3i? Do you know how many are left on the road today? According to howmanyleft.co.uk the latest figures for all XR3/XR3i models combined (excluding the convertible) is just 743.
