The cars we acquired usually comprised Austin 7s and 10s, Morris 8s, old Triumphs, Rileys, Wolseleys and MGs. Although at the bottom of the market, these cars usually had very well-appointed interiors with comfortable leather upholstery, wooden door cappings and dashboards, and very often a sliding sunroof. With no motorways and very few double carriageways (especially Oop North), the lack of performance compared with modern cars was not particularly noticeable.
