A press release landed in my inbox the other day saying Teslas top the list of cars sold most frequently in the UK, the popular electric vehicle changing hands every 20 months on average. Now, don’t switch off because we’ve mentioned those often hated – by older car enthusiasts anyway – electric vehicles because reading on, the release from history checking service CarVertical revealed an interesting insight into car ownership behaviour. Surprisingly, a car we’d tipped previously as a future classic, the Alfa Romeo Giulia, appeared at the top of the pile when it came to cars that spent the least amount of time with their custodians, kept for just 1.33 years on average.
