Japan-domiciled Australian, Marcus Rebeschini, makes quite the statement. “I gotta say, I hated that car,” he says, referencing his fully restored 1974 Carrera 2.7 MFI. “It became too perfect. This Carrera beats the MFI hands-down. The history, the stories, the condition. It’s why I love this car much more than I felt for the MFI.” MFI? You know, the one with the 210bhp Carrera RS 2.7 engine. We’ve all been there, though — there’s a danger we get too precious about a car, so much so we seldom drive it, thus never really getting to know or enjoy it.
