Engine A simple air-cooled 350 single has been a part of Enfield’s history for over half a century, but this latest version shares nothing with the old Bullet motor. The Meteor lump is a proper modern aluminium unit, with the firm’s best manufacture and design know-how, but sticks with an unassuming layout. There are only two valves in the SOHC head, driven by a simple cam-chain, and it has a long-stroke layout that’s almost unique on a new motorcycle in 2021 (the Enfield Himalayan is the only other design we can think of with such an under-square cylinder.) The Meteor gets its 349cc capacity from a 72mm bore and 85.8mm stroke, and there’s a balancer shaft in front of the crank to absorb some of the vibes. Power output is around 20bhp,…
