Welsh duo Neil Williams and Eurig Davis emerged on top of the Mk2 Escort pack in round seven of the British Historic Rally Championship on the notorious Tour Of Epynt.

For the final asphalt event on this year’s calendar, contenders headed to the Brecon Beacons and the notoriously difficult Epynt military ranges. Fast and flowing asphalt, blind crests, high speeds, difficult corners and the occasional wandering sheep all make Epynt a big challenge for everyone. As is becoming the norm this season on asphalt, the leading two cars were the Triumph TR7 V8 of Mark Higgins and the Porsche 911 of Seb Perez. However, local star, Neil Williams kept the Porsche firmly in sight until near the end of the rally when a problem with a bent clutch fork forced him to slow his pace, and he dropped around a minute.
