THE XR6’S COMPETITION HISTORY

Chris’s Sierra began life in South Africa as a road car, but by 2017 it had been fully prepared for Group 1 racing retaining its compulsory full interior by Capetown-based Floris de Kock. The car saw success at its very first event, Ford And Friends in the hands of Jackie Swart who took the honours for driver of the day. “The Sierra was quick and very competitive,” Jackie tells us, “I later attended a top end run where it achieved 200 kph over 800 metres.” By 2019, the XR6 had been entered in demanding 24-hour endurance meetings and continued its run of success, winning in Killarney with Jacques Blom, Phillippe Du Tolt and Derick Jordaan taking turns behind the wheel. “This was the Sierra’s final event before it retired from…
