The Great Unveiling first took place 15 years ago. We look back at the first cars to be revealed and break the Unveiling down into numbers.

MK1 CAPRI 3000E Owner in 2008: Steve Butler Brought over from Northern Ireland for the show, this was Steve’s first rebuild — in fact, prior to starting work on the 3000E, he’d hardly touched a car at all! Even so, the concours finish was testament to Steve’s dedication to doing things right. Dripping with period loveliness, it didn’t disappoint in the go department either, with Ric Wood responsible for the 3.1 Essex that lived under the bonnet. Amazingly, Steve still owns it, and after taking around the shows for a couple of years, turned it into a track day tool, with uprated brakes (RS Focus Brembos inside 15 inch rims), a shorter diff, tweaked suspension and more power from the V6 — 250 bhp and 210. lb.ft.
