New archive for clubs launched

Car clubs are being encouraged to upload the nation’s motoring heritage to a new online archive. The FBHVC used ClubExpo to launch its Federation Online Club Archive Scheme (FOCAS), which allows clubs to upload thousands of pieces of archive material previously unseen by enthusiasts. To create the system it teamed up with Genus IT – a specialist in document scanning already used by several clubs – and digital software firm J&L and it’s already being used by the Rootes Archive Centre Trust (RACT), Lancashire Automobile Club and Daimler & Lanchester Owners’ Club. The archive now available to clubs with either a larger archive option capable of storing around 10,000 documents – which costs £600 plus VAT per year – or a smaller option which holds around 5000 documents, costing £400…
