GOOD MEASURE On reading the feature on the Bedford restoration pages of the March issue the left image on page 9 reminded me on the body size issued and fitted by the Weights and Measures Department of the local council. When working in our family transport and plant hire business A Adams and sons of Shareshill near Wolverhampton, we had vehicles calibrated for accurate yardage deliveries to customers of ash, hardcore, and other loose materials. The inner side-board had the yardage marker and going through to the outside of the body was a lead seal stamped by the weights and measures department who issued the calibration.
